University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine Programs

Welcome UB Orthodontic Residents,

My name is Brian Willison and I am the instructor for the State University of New York at Buffalo's Orthodontic Laboratory Techniques Course. The course begins on Monday, July 9th and concludes Friday, August 3rd. Please check the 2012 Schedule link on this web page for the detailed course schedule.

The Orthodontic Techniques Lab Course is a four week introductory session designed for incoming Orthodontic Residents from the University at Buffalo to develop technical skills necessary for clinical and laboratory procedures. Attendees will also learn a variety of laboratory devices that can be used alone, or in conjunction with fixed orthodontic appliances (braces). We will start the session at the Orthodontic Department of UB's School of Dental Medicine, and the remainder of the coursework will be conducted at the Training Lab at Great Lakes Orthodontics headquarters.

In 2010, UB and Great Lakes Orthodontics, Ltd. opened enrollment of this course to accept 1-2 additional participants per year. Participants should have some level of dental experience. If you would like to apply for this session, please email your resume to briwillison@greatlakesortho.com. The deadline for submission is May 1st of that course year. Pertinent course information can be viewed on the links below.

The only item that you will need to purchase before the lab course is a book published and available at Great Lakes Orthodontics titled: Practical Guide to Orthodontic Appliances...A Comprehensive Resource from Theory to Fabrication, authored by Dr. Stephen Warunek and myself.

Please contact Great Lakes University Representatives Audrey Torgalski
@ 800-828-7626 [ext. 210], or Rich Burandt [ext. 202] to order your book. Remember to identify yourself as a UB Ortho Student when ordering to receive a special discount price.

Please take time to browse our website to learn more about our company, products, and available programs. If you have any questions regarding this session, please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to
meeting everyone.

Sincerely,

Brian D. Willison CDT
