1 Day On-Site Lab Techniques Course

Universities may request a One-Day Lab Techniques Course for dental or orthodontic residents to be held on site at their school.

One of our most popular courses is the Retainer Fabrication & Soldering Course.  Students learn wire bending, acrylicing, trimming, and finishing, as well as the art of electronic and flame soldering. Students who are interested in appliance fabrication or want to improve their current lab skills such as appliance repair or adjustment, will benefit from this session.

Costs:  Session costs include travel, lodging, and meals for the instructor, as well as any course materials and shipping costs.  The University would be invoiced for these charges after course completion.  If additional days are requested, a nominal honorarium will be charged.
 

Course Instructor

Brian D. Willison, CDT
Brian Willison joined Great Lakes Orthodontics, Ltd., in 1981 as a lab technician.  After extensive training, he became an instructor and obtained National Board Certification in the field of orthodontics.  Brian joined the State University of New York at Buffalo as a faculty member and laboratory lecturer in the Orthodontic Department of the School of Dental Medicine.  He lectures at numerous seminars across the United States and has published a variety of articles in industry journals. He is co-author of the comprehensive technical book, Practical Guide to Orthodontic Appliances.
