For experienced technicians.
Includes fabrication of tooth positioners made on the Biostar®/MiniSTAR®. Heat-cured silicone tooth
positioner process will also be discussed. This course is often scheduled AFTER the Diagnostic Setup
course, which contributes to the tooth aligning force that is applied via the tooth positioner appliance.
Curriculum:
- Review of taking of a constuction bite for appliance fabrication
- Overview of duplication and pour-up method of setup models
- Model preparation for appliance fabrication
- Processing Biostar/MiniSTAR positioner appliance
- Wax-up, boil-out, and silicone processing of tooth positioner
- Trimming and finishing techniques
- Use and application of instruments and materials
