ASTICS Retainer

Clearly what your patients will want to wear.

Beautifully clear, the ASTICS™ translucent labial bow provides both the aesthetics patients desire, and the performance you expect. ASTICS composite wire replaces traditional metal wire and can be used in either a Wrap Around retainer or a retainer attached to an Adams clasp. Highly adaptable, ASTICS can be formed to closely fit labial surfaces.

Exceptionally resilient and fatigue resistant, the ASTICS labial bow maintains its shape
better than metal wire, providing superior retention and durability. ASTICS will not harm restorations.

ASTICS is only 0.033" in diameter, so it’s more aesthetic and not bulky.  Plus, being a composite, the ASTICS labial bow is strong.

How ASTICS works

ASTICS wire is precisely formed on the model and then light cured to set the exact, fixed position.  The cured wire is then inserted into hollow metal connectors on the appliance
and permanently attached with adhesive.  Any adjustments to the fit can be done at chair side by adjusting the metal U-loops.  The shape of the labial bow cannot be adjusted.

ASTICS Polymer Wire vs. Metal Wire

  • Translucent, aesthetic
  • Greater resilience
  • Won’t harm restorations
